Six planned days turned into six weeks on the road — and this unexpected extension speaks volumes about the visual world Klaus Einwanger created for the cookbook “Aperitivo”. Because once you immerse yourself in this special atmosphere, this blend of lightness, flavor, and urban elegance, you'll want to stay. Einwanger's photographs capture this feeling: genuine, intimate, and utterly authentic.

The journey led through Italy's Aperitivo heartland: stylish Milan, pleasure-loving Turin, shimmering Venice, relaxed Padua, and charmingly convivial Bassano di Grappa. Each location brought its own mood — and with it, different colors, different lighting, different gestures of hospitality. This very diversity makes the visual narrative in the book so vibrant: “Aperitivo” isn't just a backdrop; it's culture.

The photography was consistently done on location — all recipes and drinks were created in the restaurants, in close coordination with the team and with great support from the owners and operators. The journey was also accompanied by Tany Dusy, the book's author, who added an extra
